RSA series – Tod Machover in conversation with John Kennedy. In the future will everyone be an artist distributing their work over the Web? The tendency is for the quality to settle in the middle. If artists can engage fully with their audience to critique and guide work, the quality should get better. Is there still the need for a record company? None of the artists out there got there all on their own. Consumers need a sense of reverence for the creative process. “One reason I want to try to get as many people making music is that if you really make it yourself, you really understand the value of something that’s been made really well.”
