Tod Machover’s opera SCHOENBERG IN HOLLYWOOD has its European premiere in Vienna in two weeks. “I hear great things about how rehearsals are going over there, and I pop over to Vienna next weekend to supervise the final week of preparations,” he says. “This story of a refugee from war-torn Europe in search of musical, political and spiritual resolution has uncanny resonance in the light of current events – heightened by the fact that Vienna is only ca. 350 miles from Lviv, Ukraine, about the distance from Boston to Philadelphia.
